| This project involved major alterations to a historical Gate Lodge near Haddington, East Lothian to create a 3-bedroom house. The existing roof and an old lean-to extension were removed and two Western Red Cedar-clad extensions were built on either side of the central stone pavillion. The existing single glazed sash and case windows were replaced in double glazed sash and case painted dark grey to compliment the stone and cedar. Internally a large kitchen, hallway and family bathroom occupy the eastern extension while the master bedroom, en suite shower room and walk-in wardrobe are in the western extension. The kitchen opens directly into a large high south facing living/dining room which overlooks the spacious garden. Two further bedrooms, one with en suite shower room are at the secluded rear of the property. Graphite Studio became involved in the project after Planning stage, and was responsible for obtaining the Building Warrant, preparing the construction drawings and inspecting the building works up to completion. |
